Aesop’s Daughters

Who are we? Call me Aesop. I won’t be the only person spinning tales, but I’m the father. I have two girls. One is a teen, the other soon will be. Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t pick the name because I’m wise or full of morals. I’m the frog who gives the scorpion a ride every time. I just like to tell stories. We’re not doing this to dispense advice. I don’t believe we have a corner on what is best or right. This is just a conversation. Anyone who is kind and gentle can join. But unless and until they do, we’ll just talk among ourselves.

What do we like? Movies, books, TV, pets, coconut milk and soccer. We also like our two boy dogs, call them Mutt and Jeff, though they both answer to Mutt. Heck, they answer to Sally if you have food in your hand. My older daughter, Susan, likes boys, she is “in love” with Edward from the Twilight series and believes that McDreamy (of Grey’s Anatomy) is exactly that. My younger daughter, Lucy, is OK with boys, but not looking for me to set a date on when she will get to date. She would rather read Harry Potter or tune in for Zack & Cody, though she got hooked on “Gilmore Girls” right along with her older sister. We all like “Firefly,” “Serenity” and Nathan Fillone. We even had our “Stargate” period.
